Are You Sick and Tired of Being Stressed Out? Here is How to Eliminate It: Run Your Life Like a Business

I have talked about my story where I found myself in a parking lot in New Bern, North Carolina, with my head in my hands feeling like my world was going to come crashing down because of all of the pressure I had on me for meeting quota, making sales calls, supporting customers, you name it. The pressure was crushing me, and that was a long time ago. Now I look at the responsibilities I have, and I would be lying if I didn’t tell you that I have situations arise still where I feel overwhelmed, where I feel the weight of responsibility that’s on me, where I feel like things are going to come crashing down because of anxiety and stress. I would be lying to you if I said I never experienced those things anymore. The difference now is that I have a system in place that I can immediately go to and remove that stress. I do not live a life with no stress, but rather, I know how to eliminate the stress. That is what is so important. When I feel stressed, I know how to eliminate it. The whole concept of living your life, eliminating stress and closing more sales is not that stress will be gone, it’s that you know how to eliminate it. So what I want to talk about here is one of the key aspects of how I can prevent stress and how I can reel it back in when it does occur. The concept of systematizing everything in your life may be new to you. If you’re not an entrepreneur, or you don’t have a business degree, you may not have ever heard of the concept of systematization and the importance of it. What systematization is, is establishing a clear process for everything you do so it can be repeatable, so that if all of a sudden, in a business that you’re running, you got sick, or you sold the business, etc, that somebody could walk in, literally grab your manual of all of your processes and pick up where you left off…without having any problems or without any question. Having a clear process for everything that a business does is called systematization. That is actually a strategy that I have employed in my personal life. Not just my business, but my own life. Running my life like a business is what helps me eliminate stress. So how do you start this process of systematization? 1. Write Down EVERYTHING You Are Responsible For, All of Your Goals, and Everything You Enjoy Doing 2. Begin writing a process for each of those things. Be specific. For example, “When I Make sales calls I make 10 cold calls, then make 10 follow up calls, etc” 3. Now see how you can set aside time on your calendar for each of those areas of responsibility.
